    altec malibu 843a...

i bought these yesterday as part of a larger purchase, what in reality was a gift, an inheritance, and a blessing all rolled into one.

can anyone tell the manufacture date by anything on the labels?

What a great aquisition! I was given a pair of Coronados which have one 414Z woorfer and one 3000B horn each. Mine and yours are featured in sales info as being made in 1966. Larry, Ventura, CA USA

    Hi,

    your L 300 were from 1975 (btw:the first L 300 has the number 10000) also from 1975.

the registry shows that your speakers were registrated first in Oct 2007 from a member in Illinois.

    have fun with them

    best regards

I just bought a nice pair of L100's, clean with exception to a water stain on on one side of one cabinet.

    JBL C-37 driver serial #s

    The D-130 drivers have serial #s 41814 and 41811

    The 075 drivers have serial #s 18175 and 18174

These were a pair of original C-37's found in a storage unit and unmolested.

    Hi John,

your Summits seem to be from a production between Nov 1976 and Dez 1976.

There are now 104 Summits in the registry.

The first registered number is 10011 (owner in the UK) and the last 23383 (owner in the US...FL)

    best regards

    for the record

    HI HP,

Many thanks for the information. FWIW a pair of L300s were recently sold on Ebay UK. Numbers were 17547 and 17549, I hope this may help with your 'stats'.

    Best

    They are ~1972-73.

In my Sovereign's the wood is oak. The large flat areas (top and sides) are veneer on chipboard. The profiles are solid.

    375 Serial #

I've got a pretty old 083 system. One of the 375's sticks out the back. The serial # is 8026. Unfortunately its mate's info fell off years ago. There are 150-4's, 537-500's, N500's, 075's and N7000's inside but there's a zillion screws to remove -- the cabinets were custom built and visibly long in the tooth. Perhaps the age of the 375 will reveal the age of the other components. Bought the system used in 1971. Thanks.
