    they are definitely alnico magnets.

here are more numbers from the rest of the system:

    C54 Cabinets 69152 and 69154

    Hi ,

what I wrote about the LE8T isn't possible as Grumpy stated.
I have only two of 164 with SN and the (unconfirmed) date of 1985 with the numbers 37447 and 37457.....but this can also be a result of the owners (wrong) declaration of the age.
C54 in the registry go from 67110 to 70277 without any date and PR8 from 10011 to 58019 also without date.

    Question

it seems like the C54 Trimline was only offered from 67-69, at least by it's appearances in the catalogs.

in light of that it seems possible to me that the Trimline cabinet serials might denote the year of manufacture, since they run from 67xxx to 70xxx (assuming that they were still being made in 1970 to fill orders from the 1969 catalog.

on the other hand the alnico LE8T had a very long run. i've seen pictures of other 'flavors' of LE8T, like LE8T-6 or LE8T-2. is there any knowledge as to what the extension numbers represent?

another question is in regards to the LE8T switching from 16 ohms to 8 ohms. there's no impedance specification in the catalogs so it's hard to know. was there a switch from 16 to 8, or was there a period where they were both available? it seems like 16 ohm speakers became less and less popular as solid state amps became the standard..

as well i noticed that the first few catalogs with the LE8 and LE8T indicate a power handling of 20 watts, whereas later catalogs show 40 watts. was there a difference in construction which allowed higher power handling, or was it just listed conservatively earlier on? the magnet looks to be the same size, but was the flux density altered for the later ones?

    cheers,
    marc

I have rearranged my servers. The registry has been replicated to http://prpr10.prpr.no/lhs. The old link will be shut down in a few days.

Apparently there is a problem with editing a post after a few hours???

I have identified these (others will have to be removed from their enclosures):

Not sure if URIE counts, but I have two, Model 562, Serials, 529, 580

They are road used over two decades, now corralled for the end of their life unless someone will buy them.

Pretty amazing multi-range notch filters. They are old, but I have no use for them,

These perforrm a function that is done in real time by modern day electronics but setting them manually is the way we used to do this. Then as the night/crowd progressed you could adjust them as needed.

    375 Query

The serial # on this old mid-range is 8026. Overall it's
a slight variation on an old 080 system -- custom cabinets and the addition of an 075. Can anyone date this speaker? Bought used in 1971.
The decal on its mate has been lost for years. Thanks.

    Hi Shureman,

this 375 driver seems to be from 1968 and it's saved in the registry.
