    Bad 4343 pot?

Just recieved my [new] 4343B's. On one unit there is nada from the slot. The pot for the ultra high feels, well, non-connected. No static, noise, nothing from side to side. Haven't tested the tweeter yet, but my experience with these is they are very hard to damage.

What can I use for a replacepent for the pot? What should I look for during remoal?

If you're lucky, it might not even be the pot. Theres a little, I think its a 1uf cap in the xover that goes, or , the lead on it breaks in transit from vibration. I had it happen each way on a couple different pair of my JBL's. Only once was it actually a bad cap but 3 times I recieved speakers that arrived with a broken lead on the cap. One time I had my own break just from vibration when I was "letting them breathe." You can check the cap by simply jumping across it parallel with another Known good cap. Schematic is available on the JBL pro service site. I called JBL when mine went and they sent me a new pair of caps, no charge.
