    Storing spare drivers

I need to know the best way to lay up spare units. Is it OK to store bass drivers face to face with a layer of cardboard between them to prevent physical damage or are there issues with magnetic fields? Same goes for mids. I'm generally talking vintage stuff here 123As LE5-2s etc. All advice welcome, thanks.

No cardboard, it wicks the moisture out of foam surrounds. In plastic bags then bolted face to face is fine. Support both magnets with a piece of wood or something so the drivers are vertical.

I have the same question plus another one. What about the environment? Would storing in a garage be too adverse? What if the garage gets to 125 degrees in the summer? Cloth surrounds vs foam? My inventory:

Be carefull going face to face. Some drivers have the foam above the frame gasket. The fabric surrounds are fine something like a 10" 125/127 or a 12 128H can go above. In those cases you really should have a spacer, like nylon washers so you don't mar the frame, so the foam compliance doesn't get compressd and deformed in storage.

    Storage

Thanks guys, close proximity of magnets not a problem? I guess the're fairly close in the box though.

    storage

Plasticbag and a dry well tempered (20° C) room, no garage or cellar.
My friend stored his 12" bassdrivers in his cellar and they were totally rotten (surrounds and cone). They were no JBL `s.
