Actually, other than the front half of the basket, the technology used for the 1500AL is nothing like that used in the W15GTI.

Well they both use magnets, voicecoils, paper cones, with surrounds and spiders.... but I do know what you mean.

    Heh:
Greg Timbers, JBL’s chief system engineer, has said that a well-designed two-way system comes the closest to being an ideal loudspeaker, and Project K2 S9800 represents an extension of the classic two-way-design concept, as explained below....

No, Greg Timbers already handled that part...

You have to read the, ..."as explained below..." part.

With a single 10 inch Woofer? From JBL ???
This remember me when at Frankfurt fair an Infinity sellsman tried to explain that the one 12 inch woofer of the new Elipson Loudspeaker delivers more bass then the four 12 inch woofers of the discontinued Beta Loudspeaker. (The price keeps the same)
That was the moment when marketing and controlling department take over and the doom of the brand begin.

It's LE14H-3 in the flagship, actually.

The hype is a long-standing tradition, actually. Remember "All the bass of a 15 in a 12-inch box?" In this case, it's nearly valid, with other benefits, as well.

The woofers are quite affordable for anyone to try. I'm having lots of fun working with them in older designs, and rediscovering the LE14A at the same time.
