    Smile Latest JBL find

-3 baskets of 2245H (surrounds "kaput" and voice coils shot).
-1 basket of 2242HPL (cone damaged and voice coil shot).
-12 x 127H-2 woofers (surrounds "kaput" cones and voice coils OK).

    Price paid: 0,0 $....

My question: are the 127H-2 worth the money to only replace the surrounds and dustcaps?,I never used 10" woofers before in speaker projects.
About the 2245:some nice subs are to be born in 2012.

Thanks in advance for any reply.

    Jorre.

the pair got hustled into the house quickly in a rainstorm and were randomly placed ....not even enough room for the wide angle lens, so I put on the fisheye and made a unique photo

I pulled the 14's today and looked over the cab veneer closely , amazing condition.

    thanx

I did not know it was your photo: I though it was taken from the ad.

I did not find the comment offending , sometimes the stock pics are tiring and when I when saw it's weirdness, had to use it

the veneer skirts are in such great shape that I didn't want to be the one to damage them , peddled to Walmart for new feet to replace the broken button OEM's ...just had plastic - pound in junk , so went to my old standby store and got 8 of those stainless ones that fit into nylon collars and are adjustable for height ...now they can be safely slidden while working on them.

As long as I've been reading this forum , Rick Cobb has come up over & over. Havnt needed his product until now ....the LE14H-1 is a somewhat specialized surround.

Anyway, I ordered the kit on Sunday night , it arrived yesterday , Thurs. ....well packed, CD,glue , instructions ...very professional. Would have no problem adding my name to the list of those recommending his product/service ...

The LE14H-1 is the easiest driver I've yet done surrounds on. They darn near center themselves.

    hope so

of the 8 feet ...1 was intact ...2 still there but split ...couple completely missing
and the rest were just tack heads

drilled original locations with 11/32 drill , put in nylon sleeves and screw in ss feet,
now I can slide 'em w/o holding my breath ...

refoam next ....grabbed a single L26 yesterday ..only part of value was pristine LE 25-4
(some dufus RS woofer in there too)

    JBL 4430s, yesterday

$1500.00, I pick em up, about 20 miles away. Cabinets; scratches. Drivers, impeccable. No rips, tears, dents in woofers GSS Speaker repair says they have never been opened. They demoed them with some pounding bass BS, like you would hear in a crowded club. But my Chris Botti SACD sound fine and dandy. Replaces Martin Logan Vistas and Depth subwoofer. powered with a MC2002 that I dare not go past half way on the meter or the folks from two towns over will call the police.

Best JBL thrift store find for me is my pair of L110's that i found in the stores trash pile waiting to go to the landfill, they were pleased to give me them for free as they pay to dump there trash by weight, and almost 100 pounds less in trash sounded good to them.

After a refoam using Rick Cobb surrounds they have served me well for the last couple of years....they are keepers.

    Great Buy

In 1979, after searching & searching for some JBL 110's and having no luck, I found & purchased a pair of JBL 4311wx-a Monitors for $500. They're still in use to this day, & sound just as good as day one. That was a great find for me!!

About 12 months ago I snagged some rough, but complete L46's for $10, they are currently under restoration

I picked up my Olympus with LE15B, 375 and 075's about 3 years ago for $150

A guy gave me a practically new set ( besides some cabinet discoloration) of 4310's yesterday. I did some work for him on a house he had sold and as an afterthought he asked me if I wanted them. They sound great but I dont know anything about them. Im assuming they are decent. Ive been reading about them on here learning a little. Serials are in the 15000 range.
