Question Can anyone identify this speaker

Help, does anyone know what this speaker is? It is cast aluminum and about 16" in diameter and very heavy...

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Looks like a Gauss 3581 or similar version.

'Definitely looks like Gauss. What's all the black stuff slathered on the back of the cone?

The black stuff is someone's poor attempt to repair a tear in the cone...

The voice coil is 4" if this helps narrow the options down.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Another vote for Gauss. No other details, though, sorry.

    Gauss

It's definitely a Gauss. Could be a 4580 or 5480...at one point Gauss reversed some digits in the model number. New parts are very hard to find, but aftermarket parts are available.
