    vertec vt 4881 sub . 2256g

    Hello

After a tip i have been looking at the "new" 2256g element which is fitted in vertec vt 4881 compact sub. It has a nice peak to peak with 3 inch .
Does someone know how much it costs in usa ? Here in sweden itīs realy expensive . Maybe someone have tested it ?

Is it true, that the 2256G is the W15GTI Car Transducer? I read somewhere they use the same cone kit.

Pelly3s: How much did you pay for them ? And where did you bought them ?

Guido: They look the same, but i donīt know.

I donīt find so much about 2256g except it handles a lot off power , 3" peak to peak and plays low.

I found it in the list 649 dollar each. I will maybe sell my 4 2245 to get these 2256g instead. They really work in small boxes ( Hmmmm 2245 in small boxes=NOT ). Does anyone have some specs on 2256g, i canīt find it on the web.Pelly3s : You might have some specs on it ?

    Regards mats

I was/am also considering a W15GTI for use as a sub but when you examine the T/S parameters, the linear excurion is not as long as a 2235, and much shorter than the 2245.

The efficiency of a 2235 is 1 dBA higher than the W15GTI. If the cone area is approximately the same as a 2235 and the linear excusrsion is shorter, wouldn't that infer that it couldn't play as loud regardless of the power handling ability?

My mistake, W15GTI is 0.8" each way, 2235 is 0.875" peak to peak. 2245 is 1" peak to peak. Maybe that 4th speaker will just be a W15GTI. (The seller of the K140 I bought on ebay for recone as a 2235 flaked out on me! )

But why does JBL that have to print all that sh-- on the dust cap??? I'm just going to have to paint it out!

Based on cone excursion, the W15GTI can theoretically play 2.6 dB louder than a 2235. However, the 2235 is listed as being 1 dBA more efficient. Furthermore, for our use, we would probably run it at 12 ohms (as opposed the 3 ohms) resulting in a decrease of 1.8 dB from an 8 ohm 2235. So to get that extra 2.6 dBA out of the W15GTI, you would have to push some heavy duty watts through it.

I originally bought a W12GTi on an auction over a month ago and the guy said it was "out of stock". I emailed last thursday saying I wanted my money back, at which time he promptly shipped me a W15Gti. I had already found a W12GTi. So know I have an extra W15GTi (as long as the 12 gets here). I think I have sold the 15 as long I get my 12. I have to upgrade my Swan 12 Madisound sub in my Camry. I didnt want to think about stuffing the 15 in. Now I need a bigger amp Dang that 15 is big....
