    SR 4725

    Hi,

    I have a pair of SR 4725's....

They were abused fore I got'em...

The resistors keep needing resoldering, and yes I've tried silicone.

I was told I should buy new upgraded crossovers.....but I don't know what to get or where to get'em.

    Can someone help?

The "A" version network is indeed different.

Contact your local JBL Pro Authorized Service Center for details on any recommended network upgrade:

Also, please go to "User CP," above, and enable location display in your profile, so we can see where you are. Someone local may have a specific recommendation.

I'd probably call or eMail JBL Pro Service at the factory for advice regarding replacement or upgrade, then let them tell you how to order what you need to do it.

The appropriate networks may be in stock there as parts....

    We'll do!

Should I not be able to fix these, can you recommend another top end?

Jammin' Jersey has them listed as being in stock (used). They have both 4725 and 4725A ("A" series has speakon connectors in addition to 1/4").

    They ship worldwide. Good Luck!

Yes, you should be able to fix these with the proper networks.

Top end? 2426H on 2370A is the workhorse standard combination for portable sound reinforcement.

For personal use, consider them to be "party" speakers.

If you're wanting to use these for Hi-Fi or home theater, they'll need augmentation on both the high and low ends.

If you look at the spec sheet, you'll see it's largely a fruitless endeavor to try to squeeze more top end through a 2370A horn....
