What's the highest freq can you hear? I can hear up to 18kHz since I have good ears.

Flat to 40 kHz for me. That's why JBL goes to the trouble of building all these super duper tweeters for me.

My old CRT TV set sings at 16.25 khertz and I can easily hear that.

It depends on air temperature and relative humidiy.

Just because you can hear that high doesn't mean you have good ears.

My hearing gives out at about 14 kiloHertz. I could hear to about 17k 20 years ago, and the upper threshold has been creeping down slowly since then.

C'mon you over 50 guys, fess up. B`)

Unless given a proper hearing test nobody knows whether they can hear a frequency above what their stereo system will reproduce and few people are truly sure of what that is. Said differently, it's possible your stereo is crapping out where you think your hearing is. (It is not a good idea either for you or your stereo to crank up the amp when playing sine wave test tones.) It has been stated many times that we are sensitive to frequencies both above and below ones that we can specifically hear. Build your system out as clean as you can and still have milk for your cat and then enjoy the music.
