Best $600 or less Sub regardless of Brand name

Looking for combination of small size and good bass. It's for Home theater only. Would like to get opinions of those who shopped and were down this road recently. Not looking for used. Thanks

I've used and liked NHT (SW10?), REL (Q108/Quake) and Velodyne lately, but I'm a bit out of touch with what street prices are. We charge our customers full retail, and they pay it. The NHT I got a good price on for personal use, though, and I think you might find an even better model in the the $600 range.

If you can stretch your budget to $800 you can get a 4645c that will rock the house. (18" 2242H)
    4406, 4412A, L100, L100t3 (3 pair), L1, L7, 4645C, 4660A, 4695B, SR4735 and various DIY JBL Pro loaded systems.

Prefab subs? IMHO, Boston PV700. 12" vented sub, 150w amp. Will definitely slam, has great bottom end control, sells for $499. One of the best-behaved subs I know of, regardless of price.

You might be able to talk yourself into a PV900 for $600, possibly... retails for $699.00. Same as the PV700, only with a 300w (RMS) amp. Absolutely devastating impact, IME...

If you're at all interested in the NHTs I mentioned, I've ordered from this guy in the past and he's got a closeout of last year's models going right now, some SW10s and SW12s:

Funny you should ask...I was just talking to one of my co-workers about his Carver Sunfire sub....I think it's a pretty nice unit....he said he paid $1200.00 for it, he's looking to get around $600.00 for it.
