    JBL 4208 - WOW!!

I just picked up a pair of 4208's. I've used JBL S38's and 82t bookshelf sized speakers for my HT front channels. OK sound, but not impressive compared to my home stereo S312 speakers. I wasn't expecting much with the 4208's, but the sound they put out is incredible. The 4208 cabinets are smaller/lighter than the 82t's, but they must be heard to be appreciated. Don't know why JBL discontinued this gem. I'll be on the lookout for additional pairs.

It's good that you're happy with the 4208. The front baffle and the whole speaker generally is not very well made. LSR 28 is much nicer

    4208's are underappreciated monitors.

    And shielded, too, no?

For use near field on CRT console....

Yes, they are shielded. At first, I wasn't too fond of their odd shape, but not a problem anymore.

I'll be using 4206's for my PC monitors, some day.
