    JBL 2402 tech question

Opps, just bought three alinco type. Appear to be bodge of cardboard shims and dented diaphagms. No idea why this has been done. Diaphragm has quite large alloy washer under the phase plug 'bullet' part.

Is this the wrong part bodged to suit? Out to the workshop to poke about. I have been had, might have well got em on e-bay as dead!

Not sure if 2405/2404 have difffernet centres compared to 2402. Of course these are pattern part but they should have gone in OK without a cardboard packing piece under the centres and outer ring.

The 2402 alinco is the same as ferrite versions?

    Unhappy Why do this?

The gold backs have been peeled off and replaced with cardboard and the diaphragms have been given a thrashing!

Why would this have been done?
