Last of the 2402,s, and 2405,s?

I heard JBl is taking orders for the LAST run of 2402,s and 2405,s. Is this true? No more bullets and slots? I hear the 2404 is next, they are phasing these tweeters out altogether.

If so, what will they replace them with?

    Tweeters're superfluous.

    Two-ways RULE!

2 ways can be really good, no doubt, but I dont think my 2395,s are suitable to run all the way out!

Them 2242,s are going to be working hard, baby, Ill tell ya, I dont think them thar woofers is going anywhere but here!

You think eight of them 2242,s will be enough extra sub bass augmentation? In addition to the other 12 eighteens already in operation!

I plan on keeping the Widget built subs with the 2242,s! Also planning on putting some full range ontop of them, as well.

Getting back on track, though, I was under the impression JBL still sells alot of 2405,s 2402,s and 2404,s! At least I am told the pro sound industry still uses alot of JBL tweeters.

    Guess Vertec is taking over.

Yup! I ordered some about a year ago and they took months. Then I ordered some 2405 parts including a new horn and they told me me the 2405H was being discontinued and that the horn (I guess it's called a horn) was all they had left. The unit I got was missing some paint.

Let's see what happens to prices on ebay now!

There are at least four threads on the forum discussing box design for 2242H. Use "Search" to find out more than you want to know, probably, including my own detailing of the dual 18" JBL 4688 TCB monster sub system.

    Yes, it is

They are disontiniued. Audio-Pro in germany said they have only a few 2405H drivers to sell . Because of this very long way there must be a last
limited edition of this drivers !!! 2402 is about nearly 50 years in production. Production can`t stop this way. Please JBL build a last limited edition of this very significant drivers !!

I was telling this to the forum 2 month ago.

No reaction. Now it might be too late

I just thought that because the pro industry still uses alot of JBL tweeters, they would not have discontinued production.

I have heard the 2407's in a VRX box and they are killer. The second I fired the box up I thought I need to buy a pair of the tweets. The VRX used 3 in each box. I havent heard them on the PT waveguides yet.
