Interruption yesterday and a few minutes ago

Yesterday the AH web site was moved to a larger virtual file system as it was running a little low on space - only about 32% free.

Today the forums were moved - that was just housekeeping and meant only a 5 minute interruption.

So only 99.9 percent uptime? For shame.
Seriously, Thanks for all of your behind the scenes work, keeping the site running.

Yeah, thanks, John. I'm sure I have no idea what's involved, but it must be a lot.

    Hi John

Even though this is obvious, it can't be stated enough. The level of service you are providing is unparalleled and we all remain in your debt.

You might be interested that I am just starting a trip that is similar to the one that brought me to Boulder this May. I am currently at a conference in Bismarck ND, but leave on Thursday to spend 10 days in the mountains of Idaho and Montana. I learned from the trip you took me on to the front range mountains of Colorado. Instead of renting a low slung car, I rented a 4x4 so I can legitimately get onto the backroads and trails to ghost towns and other places of interest.

    Take care
    Don

    G'Day John,
Thanks for keeping all the fiddly bits working!
How do you find the EVA to manage?

    Regards Scott

    Hi Scott,

The EVAs are easy to manage but getting the hardware stable on the first array was a bit of a trick. (two 2C8Ds, one 8C8D)

    One must have spares handy.

    Disk firmware upgrades are interesting.

The speed is pretty good - I can see sustained 125mb/sec on large files.
