    One more 122A question...

    Ok, first a warning!

Since I wrote my last post, I actually got around to checking the DCR of both speakers. DUH...

One speaker, 6.6, other speaker, megohms. Thats right, megohms. Oh Oh. First thought was to cut the dustcap off. Squelching that thought, I resoldered all terminals on both speakers. Viola! they are now 6.6 and 6.7! No recone now!

Now, remember the foam that is glued onto the outside of the basket? The stuff thats there to seal the speaker if you mount it to the inside of the baffle? Do I just go to Home depot and pickup some diy foam tape? Or do I use some other method?

    Thanks

    Gene

If I understand you right the foam on the outer edge that has the surround under it?? You can either save and reuse it or simply order new from JBL. Just call JBL Pro and they can give you a part number and you can order right from the web sight. You can also get paper gaskets for standard front mount at the same time.

Take a look at the second page. The 128H-1 uses the same frame as the 122 so I think that gasket part number will work but check with JBL before you order of just wing it as they are very inexpensive.

The frame and outer dimensions of the surround are exactly the same on 122A, 126A, 128H and 129H drivers. Speaking from experience, the 128H/128H-1 gaskets will work perfectly on all of the above.
