    Recovered from trash - 6x 2425's

A local theater used for the filming of a movie had to "move out" all of their gear so that production could take place. When they moved back in, a dumpster was set up and my buddy was there, with open arms.

Some things landed were six 2425's, four of which are on horns - two short, two long, mouth size a rectangular 10 x 20 approx. The drivers are mounted with 3 bolt to 4 bolt adapters about 5" long.

Also a pair of 2404's on the cheeky horns....

He wants nothing to do with them, and 5 / 6 test OK with HPF pink noise. I told him I'd help sell them off, but not right away...I want to think about this for a bit!

What good is the 2425? I still have the 4628 Cabaret's, and if they can be incorporated in a DIY, I might buy a pair from him.

    Or some other application.....

The 2425 is good for nothing except the HF for 4430, 4435, 4691 and every other JBL PROFESSIONAL (emphasize PROFESSIONAL) system that has used a 1" compression driver for the last 25 years....I'm currently taking donations for such trash...PM me for my address

    Well, OK then!

I think the 2118 in the 4628 comes in at 800Hz. Can I insert the 2425 and keep the 2404 as UHF to try them out for a while? Add an l-pad?

Well...you could try it but I wouldn't mess with the 4628B....sounds great as it is. I'd just build something else and leave the 4628B alone. Maybe build yourself a 4430/35 clone

Yeah, don't mess with the 4628B's. It's the 2118's that give them their mellow midrange.

I might be interested in the 2404's. I always love cheeky things!
    Thanks for the reply.
