    Huge Cabinets with JBL's Inside

Last week I found the JBL's I mentioned in the 150-4C thread that turned out not to be 150-4C's.

Today I found these: They sport D130's and 075's (8ohm) with N2400 crossovers.

Anyone here familar with this cabinet? It measures 5' long 2' deep and just over 3' high without the castors. they need refinished but are otherwise nice, well damped, well braced and well built.

that's my toyota 4 Runner behind them for perspective.

    You live right!

    Brad,

I'm coming up to your neighborhood to search things out. You have been hitting a "goldmine" lately. How well are those cabinets braced inside?

Is that a Kenwood KT-7500 tuner?

    Big cabinets!

Notice how small the D130 looks in comparison!

It is a KT-7500 tuna on top, the seller of the speakers threw it in along with the Crown gear and Wimpy Pioneer cassette deck.

Notice how small the D130 looks in comparison!
It's funny you mention that, Steve and I both thought it was a 12" - EVEN after we quickly measured it!!!!! The perspective suggested no way it could be 15"

Well from what I could see, 20 2x4's going from front to back and around the edges.

YIKES!!! obviously custom and judging by the overall dimensions (huge)
not optimum for the 030 components (IMHO)

I can picture 2 130's, add a compression driver, and recalculate that port and you've got a formidable three-way setup.

    Praise those casters!

Looks like a good cabinet for a JBL 2242 18" driver!

If you have the room for the real-estate, and can move the cabinets once the extra bracing were installed!

Not if you're looking for chowder. Yummm!

As for the "huge cabinets," that's a heck of a box to make that D130 look so diminutive. Cut those mothers in half.
    Out.
