    Home Theater Reciever Opinions Please?

I am in the process of hooking up an HD Samsung DLP. I know I'm going to need a AV reciever and it's been a good 5 years since I have had one hooked up. So I'm in the market for another but money being tight it will be off to Ebay with some 2 channel stuff and the funds from that should get me in the $600 - $800 range. So what are your opinions please?

H/K, Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer....You know you're best off to go with separates though. Good values are Parasound, Adcom, Atlantic Technology if you can get'em used.

marantz is very good also. I've got their best 5.1 Pre-amp sitting around, but you would need amps ( got those also)

If money's tight a receiver is good. if you've got a few extra bucks more then separates are better. PM if you want some specfics ( and not about my stuff either)

Right you are, '59...We also forgot to mention Denon and Panasonic. Check out the Panasonic SA-XR70S...slightly over 3" tall, less than 10lbs., 100watts x 6 Component Video switching....AND....HDMI input/output...MSRP $499.95. Alot for the money.

My requirement a year or two back when I had the same dilemma was to get the least expensive receiver that had full pre outs. I use the internal amps for the surrounds and I use separates for the sub and front three speakers.. it works out quite well... and you can let the system grow with you.

I am using an Integra (Onkyo) something or other.
