    Availability of 122A recone kit?

Hey, I just got in a 122A for recone... can't get hold of our JBL factory parts guy today...

Anyone know if 122A kits are currently available, and if so, how much they're going for these days?

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Gordon.

Re: Availability of 122A recone kit?

The 122A now takes the 129H cone kit - C8R129H. It is out of stock with no status of "pending", meaning there isn't a single unit on backorder and no production run scheduled.

You might want to look at alternatives such as the C8R128H or C8R128H-1, both of which are in stock. I think they can also take those 2212 or 2213 kits, but I can't remember for sure.

OK... but, if I reconed one with an 128H kit, I would really need to do BOTH of them, right? Different DCR, different SPL levels, if nothing else?

Specifically, this driver is out of an L65 (I think 'A' version). As far as anyone knows, is there any problem just dropping in the 128 (effectively) in this speaker? I don't think it's all-original anymore, even now... sounds like it has an 033 or 034 or whatnot (silver-dome, but no wire mesh grille) tweeter in it, from the customer's description(??)... was that ever a factory configuration, in any of the late-model L65s??

Come to think about it, I'd also need to do both of them, even if we used the 129H kit, right? That kit also has a higher DCR than the 122A...

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Gordon.
