The 2240 and 2245 drivers are not the same; the 2240 is designed for Sound reinforcement applications, whereas the 2245 is designed for studio monitor applications. See this page in the library for the professional series components; there you can compare the specs of the two drivers. Hope this helps:

gotta love fleabay .....
80 % of the stuff's gotta be bogus ....
well does it have a foam edge or a cloth edge, the frame maybe have just been reconed to a 2245's, not all 2245's have an aquaplaus back to them.
Maybe not. 2240 recones to 2245, I believe, and recent 2245 kits have black aquaplas, not white. Use "Search" to find discussions of these points in the forums....Originally Posted by crypto
Good point..maybe there is hope. Check the foam edge as pelly3s points out; and there were some recent discussions on the forum about the fact that not all 2245 cones had the white aquaplas. Perhaps the seller could give you some history on the driver..like pelly said if it has a foam surround, it could well be a 2245 cone in a 2240 frame.Originally Posted by Zilch

The e-155, 2240 and 2245 shares the same basket.
The basket can be labeled 2240 but the cone can
be 2245 or e-155 or 2240..
So it should be allright if your cone is an 2245 with soft foam
instead of fabric/paper
it does in fact have the foam surround.thanks everybody.
