    upgrading crossovers

    Hi!

Ive eventually got round to upgrading the crossovers in my 25 year old valencia 846b's.

For anyone that has experience of upgrading/repairing crossovers, my question is - do you get any benefit from changing inductors, or is all the benefit in the caps/wire?

    the crossover has 2 x cap, 2 x inductor and an L-pad.

    thanks!

    Chris,

    Hi,

Never looked inside one but cleaning the pad might be a good idea.

Probably not a good idea to touch the inductors, may pay to bypass the caps with thetas or what ever you fancy. Plenty of posts / threads on wire, try the search option.

Also get the compression driver checked over by someone qualified.
