Are there any sonic differences between the 2309/2310 horn lens,
the H-5039 , the 2390, and the HL-89? They all seem to be the same dimensions with different numbers.

JBL has not been entirely consistent in it's numbering system. The HL-89 was the 70's consumer designation for the serpentine horn lens with a gold colored lens. H-5039 was the 50's-60's designation for the same horn with the 537-509 designation for the horn and lens as separate components. The pro designation for the complete set with a black lens was the 2390. The pair with separate pro numbers was 2309/2310.Originally posted by Dwight
