    Thumbs up

    Hey all!

    Been real busy with the biz and haven't been able to visit as often as I would like.

    I need to give special thanks to Don McRitchie for helping me get my "JBL Dog" handle back. Someone else had gotten it before I did and it left me in a mild state of depression. Since the person didn't complete the final phase of registration, Don cancelled his membership and I got it back!!

    Back to good sub amps. Most of what I use are professional series amps. I have a set of AS2215's (dual JBL 2226J's in an SR series style cabinet) that I got in the tent sale awhile back. I'm running a QSC MX3000a bridged that delivers 3200 watts into the pair of AS2215's. I have them crossed at 80hz using an old 5234 active crossover. SUH-WEEEEET!!

    mikebake: I have a few of the PLX3402's. They're nice amps, but they don't have the"gusto" of the MX3000a. The Crown Macrotech series kicks butt also!

    Crown power

    Yes they do! but they like a good source for AC power,
    I run each one it's own 30amp breaker off of my power
    distro.
    The QSC PL236's work very well and my back likes them to!
    They are also more efficient when it comes to AC power.

    All of my mids and highs are powered with the QSC PL2 series.

    all true

    But as long as you have GOOD ac and enough of it, crown bass punches like NO OTHER!

    The ONLY other amps for sub bass that moves your bowels is BGW! However, BGW is a rounder, warmer, heavier sound that is great, but isnt quite as aggressive as the crowns!

    Its a matter of preference! I love both!

    let me rephrase

    In my experience BGW and Crown rule! However, there can be other brands that Im not familiar with that produce great results!

    As far as Crest, Crown, BGW, Bryston, QSC, Stewart, and AB I like Crown and BGW the best for bass!
