    Metragon custom?

Do you think this is a custom cabinet based on a Metragon?

    Custom-No,Homebrew Yes

Its a Metregon derivitive. The construction is straight ahead without the esoteric trim work.No curved outer edges on the top, just a flat piece of lumber.

I would bet its lineage is from the Metregon plans.

Interesting picture.Whats in it and where is it at?

From this pic it further identifies these as built from Metragon plans. Looks like it has been painted. What a shame. The back boards are cut for dual crossovers, but have been put on backwards. The Metragons I've seen have the crossovers to the inside, close to each other, while these are mounted to the outside. The crossovers in this are N1200 16Ohm with serial numbers of 7923 and 7924. Still working on getting pics of the insides.

As an object, it's not a bad derivative.

It has a Deco look to it. The plainness and crispness is not objectionable....

I actually like it better than stock Metragons. In general I am not a fan of the "Traditional Furniture Style". I much prefer modernist or deco styling, but that is obviously a subjective opinion.

Too bad they didn't handle the grille detail around the front curved reflector better.
