    Help to ID "gold" woofers

A gentleman in Cerritos has some "gold" woofers for sale NOS that he says are similar to the 2214Hs. I wanted to pick up a pair of the woofers for another pair of clone XPL200as, Can anyone ID these and if so, are they similare to the 2214Hs as far as TS parameters (will they work with NOS XPL200A crossovers with minor mods). The magnet structure looks identical, but the basket is different.

They are woofers from the Century Gold:

Do a search on "Century Gold" on this forum and you will find a wealth of information.

    Hi

    - If you can get a reasonably good deal on them , then I'd recommend buying them.

    - That said, they won't be an exact dropin replacement for the 2214H.

    - One can see from the pics, that this woofer has a thicker top-plate than the older 2214 or 128 type 12" woofers.

    - This thicker top-plate means it has a deeper gap. That should mean an Fs that is 3 to 5 Hz higher than the 2214H. Other TS figures will also have been effected. Still, I like these "deeper-gapped" woofers / so I would buy them in a heart-beat ( if I was after 12" woofers - & I'm not ).

    - IME, these deeper gapped woofers have greater bass articulation / but / this is somewhat at the expense of VLF reproduction.

    - The best situation would be to buy them / and then measure the TS figures / with maybe this new "Woofer Tester Two" software that is sold at Parts Express .

    - If you want to just "invent" some TS figures, then start by blending the 2214H figures with those from the ME120H .

I had a look and can confirm that it's the 1200H.

But I can't find any T/S Specs. Maybe do a more deep search for the 1200H. I'm quite sure there are some specs around here.

    I'm sure Giskard can help!
Giskard, forget the "Former Member" thingie and help out here please!!
