i need your help - everest Horn

Hello I'm Matthias Asselborn from Germany iam 21yrs old
ive copied several JBL Horns like my S2600 or the 2397 Smith Horn
in the middle of June after my School Exams
i will start the Everest Project for Jan.D

with you help i got the 2346 Everest Horn on Ebay!

    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MakeTrack=true

i paid the money for the Horn over Paypal to the Ebay seller RBAS7 - 130$ about 107 Euros
now he cannot send the Package to me becaus he think its too big

    ive read following websites!
which shows the maximal dimension of packages!
and you can see it is possible to ship the Everest Horn to Germany

RBAS7 will not send me the Horn only on a Adress in the USA

Here you can see the limits of packages!

    http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/immicl/immicleg_018.html

The girth + the lengh dont may reach 108 inches ( 274cm)

    http://ircalc.usps.gov/mailpiecedimensions.asp#LargePackage

The lenght of the Horn is about 67cm and the width about 56 cm –
    depth 40cm

    The grith is 2 * 56cm + 2* 40cm = 192cm
The lenght (67 cm) + grith (192 cm) = 259 cm, its under the limit of 108 Zoll (274.32 cm).
I see there are no problems to shipping the Horn to Germany !

can anybody of you help me to recieve the horn and ship it to me?
i will buy the shipping cost - naturally

    greetings Matthias

Hopefully one of the East Coast members can help. Sending it to California to ship it to Germany would be increasing your costs and the risk of damage in transit.

    Good luck.

Matthias: I would gladly do it for you, but I am in California.

I have eMailed the seller on your behalf, appealing to them to ship the horn to you directly in spite of their "US Only" terms.

I trust you'll withdraw that negative feedback if they do....

i will withdraw the negative feedback if i get the Horn!
I paid the Money one Month ago and i sent over 10 oder 20 Emails to the seller RBAS7 --no response--

then i gave him the negative feedback
    and he answerd me yesterday

iam very glad to hear from the seller!

now my problem (or the problem of the seller is the shipping) ....

Today i asked Dave! he is an friendly owner of the Everests

i sent him this Email: and i hope he helps me

    Dear Dave,
as you already know, I won this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47092&item=7316273 543&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW, but the seller has been thoroughly uncooperative. First he sent me the "Complete Rate Chart and Restrictions for Germany" of the USPS, I paid him by Paypal, and then he observed complete silence for 3 weeks, refusing to answer my inquiries. When I eventually gave him a negative feedback, he responded as you can see here: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=rbas7

The seller has now agreed to send the horn to an address in the USA, which doesn't make sense: The size restrictions are same for domestic and international shipping, but it is futile to argue any further with him.

Would you be so kind as to receive the horn and send it on to me in Germany? I will, of course, cover all your expenses.

    Best regards

I will try to help you get this horn shipped. I live on the East Coast, so maybe that will help.
If you get a printed statement from a shipper, like UPS, or any international carrier that will take these horns, send a copy to me and I will interseed on your behalf with the seller and see if I can get him to release the horn.
You should also let him know that I am going to act on your behalf.

I think it's important to hold eBay sellers to high ethical practices and I think any vintage JBL enthusiast should bew able to get this gear if he's willing to meet the sellers prices. Helping eachother is also part of what this Lansing Forum should be.
E-mail me back and we can discuss this further.

    Calling forum members in Brooklyn

Could Matthias and I be so fortunate that a forum member is living in the vicinity of the uncooperative Ebay seller?

And to push our luck: Would the forum member in Brooklyn be so kind as to pick the horn up in person and send it to Germany? Matthias and I will, of course, cover all your expenses.

Glad this appears to be working out. Missed Matthias' message over the holiday weekend here. If Tom can help, that'd certainly be less expensive and more local. Otherwise, let me know.
