Patti LuPone
Ok, I don't blame you if you've never heard of her. I hadn't either, but as I say, I do recognize her after the fact from a couple of movies.
Now you guys are disappointing me here. I've given you a bunch of killer clues. First of all, I just checked CDNow Amazon.com and Catherine Zeta Jones doesn't have any solo releases. Otherwise, not bad guess although Michael Douglass is known more as an actor. This lady is married to a writer director. He is known for supsense thrillers with sharp witty dialogue.
And Madonna's first stuff is from early 80's!!
Now, what's a well known audiophile label? They have their own website. As I say, you might not recognize her from this photo as she wears her hair differently now.

Not Kathleen Turner or Rebecca Pigeon?
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Pidgeon made her Broadway debut in David Mamet's "The Old Neighborhood." She has two children with husband Mamet: Clara and Noah. Also a singer-songwriter, Pidgeon has recorded two albums with the British folk-pop group Ruby Blue. Her solo albums are "The Raven," "The New York Girl's Club" and "Four Marys."
That settles that!

Hey, good news is that my local record store will order me the SACD for less than what I can pay online plus shipping!
