    Recognize her?

    I just heard her this weekend for my first time....only one song....and was blown away.

    Until someone get's it, I'll offer progressively more informative clues. First clue: First CD, 1994.

    More possible clues to come: where raised, genre, other talents, label, who married to...etc

    Clues

    She was born in the US but raised in Scotland where she attended a prestigious performing arts academy. She moved back to the US as an adult where she began a stage career and later signed with a prestigious audiophile label where she recorded 3 cds. A compiliation was later released by same label. She recently released her first cd in about 8 years with another label. The reason for her break from music was her pursuit of an acting career after she married a well known and respected film writer/director. She has appeared in several of his films. I realized after the fact that I had seen one her films and plan to rent it again. Based on only the one song I've heard and numerous positive reviews I've read, I've just order her first CD and also her Retrospective on Hybrid SACD.

    she appeared along with a popular academy award winning actor in a 2001 supsense caper thriller that was directed by her husband.

    in the same movie as mentioned above appears another well known and popular character actor who is very short, bald, wise-cracking, and with an Italian name.
