    A Marantz Model 7 preamp and I believe a model 8 amp? They're worth a few grand...

Or did you mean the Metregon? That would depend on what is inside it... there were many options.

A literal answer would have been two Marantzes riding a Metregon on wheels.

That is a Metragon clone..The verticle vanes are not angled quite right. The veneer on curved panel should be verticle, Top edge of cabinet not shaped right. But i would,nt kick this baby out of the house. The Marants units worth more than the JBL clone.

All accurate observations. Mr. Widget's indirect inquiry still remains: What's inside?

    It may not be...

a real Metrogon, but the cab work sure looks like somebody really did it up right! The question still begs....

R.I.P. to some audiophile with good taste

I get the feeling that there are going to be quite a few of these kind of things and questions about them showing up in the next few years, As the owners pass away and relatives don't know what they are. There have been quite a few already.

    Marantz #7 Preamp - $3000-$4000
    Marantz #8 Amplifier - $2000-$3000
Metregon - Who knows? depends on what's in it and if it's a factory cabinet.

Did any body see this one?

I didn't see this come up on LH. Anyone got the scoop? What was in it?
