Loyd knows?

I was surfing Ebay and came across this listing. The seller claims he e-mailed JBL and someone named Loyd was able to give him a date of manufacture on a set of JBL drivers based on a serial number. Is Loyd responding with an educated guess or is he the only one on the planet that actually has this type of information.

I think that the key word here is "MAY".I"ll check and see who Lloyd is.
