When I saw them I was thinking "speakers purchased from back of a van" but it turns out they're for real. They had the first patent for the use of a plastic cone material as well as a patent on some way to control the cone motion on a driver this large.
"The magnetic suspension is a band of iron particles bonded to the voice coil that provide the restoring force to return the cone back to the neutral position. This makes the speaker very fast for its size"
