Help! Service advice for ReFoam AND Recone?

Anyone have any advice on where to send these items for repairs?

    I have Four (4) LE-10 10" woofers from L-96 that need re-foaming.

In addtion I have Four (4) 128H woofers from L-112 in need of recone ( I know that JBL discontinued the recone kit...I'm hoping some are left somewhere).

I appriciate the help and promise to post up the restoration project's progess (for several L-96 and L-112 units) as the project moves forward.

Refoams can be done at home, in your spare time and you can impress your friends!! SEARCH for "resurround step-by-step" - there's sources and suggestions there.

On the kits for the 128H - dunno. Keep a watch on eBay, post on Marketplace (here) and if all else fails consider some aftermarket options. You might SEARCH (advanced search) for "128H recone kits" and "Giskard" or something - maybe you'll get some leads.

    easy

Brian, I'm a RANK amateur at refoaming and reconeing and I've got 6 refoams and 2 recones under my belt. ( 2x LE10, 2x 2122h, 2x 2114 and reconed 2x E120) I followed the instructions in the guide and 2 pair I brougt to a professional reconer I have a good relationship with and he stated he could not have done better. This from a shop that is the 3rd largest JBL reconing facility in North America.
I'm really not bragging about my abilities, its that the guide that Bo is refering to is that good.

I have three in need. One is severly dented with the vapor deposited aluminum flaking. The other two look OK (no dents) but the Al has begun to flake off.

I have two decent 044 tweeter sets ...but hoped to resurrect the three ailing units to complete the restoration of five pairs of speakers (two L96 and three L112).

2 L430 Integrated amplifiers, and one M-02 amp/C-02 Preamp...the sources are not Luxman, yet. I'm currently using a Sony DVD player for CDs. I am still seeking a decent turntable/arm/cartidge combination that I could afford (those vinyl devotees are insanely pricey).

    Cool!

I always thought Luxman was very cool gear. I owned a few sets over the years. They powered a veritable plethora of JBL systems.

Thanks for the encouragement, Hector. I lack the confidence that I could accomplish the task. I found a local JBL repair house, they have my woofer sets now. I expect to have them back in two more weeks.
