    T/S Specs for LE14H-1?

    Hey, does anyone have T/S specs, SPECIFICALLY for the LE14H-1? IIRC, they're slightly different from the LE14H, due to something like a slightly longer voice coil or a slightly heavier cone (or both). I was surprised- I searched the site here, and didn't find any, that anyone had posted, ever...

    Thanks...

    Regards,
    Gordon.

    Here's the original design spec from '82 but it isn't the most accurate (the numbers don't jive, Vas, Bl, Mms or something is slightly screwy). You'd probably do better to use the LEAP you have to measure yours.

    That's the problem- I don't have one yet. Just wanted to compare the 2235 and LE14H-1 in a roughly "L250-sized" box (~4 to 4.5 cubic feet or so), to see what I could come up with. I have the option of modifying the 2235s I have (they need reconing) to more match the bottom end I'd get from an LE14-1... I just need to know what benchmark to be shooting for...

    Thanks for the specs... I'll try to sort out what's going on. I'll compare the specs to a standard LE14H (should have similar compliance and such, I'd think... might be able to find out what the problem is by comparison)...

    Regards,
    Gordon.

    Ok. I'd suspect the error is in the Vas.

    Interesting ;

    - I've always gone by if it had a "black cone" / I modelled using JBLs' published specs for the le14h ( even though the cone colors are wrong ) . Would be nice to know the correct VAS.

    - If it was "white cone" I modelled with the Ts for the le14a. I just ignore the magnet type.

    Sometime ago , I made an assumption that JBL had actually never produced a deep coiled , white faced variant. I can't remember the genesis for that "ad hoc" conclusion.

    Well, if anyone wants to send me an original LE14H-1, I'd be glad to model it in LEAP/LMS, and post the results here. That way, we'd ALL know for sure...

    Regards,
    Gordon.
