    Practice wife saga continued...

First off I’d like to say thx to BO for pointing me in the right direction about potential phasing issues and secondly I’d like to say that “you guys” are all great and the wealth of knowledge you all have is immense. I could not imagine calling 1-800-JBL-HELP and for all I know I’d probably get somebody over in INDIA. So humbly, after reading wilsonj’s saga of his L100’s and surviving three wives, God bless you, I wanted to share my experience as well. I purchased my JBL L100’s in Germany at the airbase in 1977. We were poor soldiers back then and I could only buy one at a time. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I paid $250ish each. From Germany, the L’100’s went to FL for a spell then up to CT where they sat in their original boxes for about 10 years. Well, the practice wife has come and gone and finally I had my boy help get those babies back to me. You see, the practice wife held them hostage all these years, thank God she didn’t sell em’! So now they’re back with they’re rightful owner. Shown are the two L100’s on the outside and a pair of 4412’s on the inside, fed by two Phase Linear 400 AMPS. Thx for letting me share my story and if any of you guys get up to Sturgis in the summer, look me up for a beer or two…

    Happy ending

    Very nice...

Nothing like a story with a happy ending... Some great classic gear too,
    those Phase Linear 400 Amps!

    Best regards,

Hi Be carefull with those amps I was a witness to one of those amps going south and it took out the woofers on a pair of 4311's in one second flat. Not my speakers but I still felt like crying

Thanks for the kudos to the Forum. It truly is a great resource of all kinda information, experiences and opinions. Now, the Pictures and Library are rounding-out Don's Master Plan. Nice...
