    JBL 18" drivers 2005

    Hello

Is there any other 18" drivers in the JBL range this year, tha the 2242?
Is there not a Vertec 18" driver too?

I would be glad if somebody could write down what drivers that are
avail, and some information about the driver and PLEASE, a picture
    would be great too !!

    2268h

There is the new differential drive 18" 2268H in the SRX 700 line. Maybe someone with better knowledege than I can tell us how it compares to the 2242H.

For that matter can anyone tell us the differences, such as diaphram size and freq. response, between the older 1 inch drivers 2426, 2 inch drivers like the 2450 and the new 2431H driver in the SRX 700 line.

I was thinking to use some of these new SRX 700 items in my home theater but am unsure if they will work well.

    2431h:

We are currently investigating and working with the 2431H in the "Quick and Dirty 4430's" thread, and there's some information gleaned from different sources there.

Use the forum "Search" function to find what's been said about 2450.

2426 is the versatile 1.75" titanium diaphragm 1" exit workhorse driver.

They'd (2268H) better be good, because i ordered 2 Srx728s today. Price for
ASB 6128/ ASB6128v is to expensive in germany (for me).

I also love to hear opinions from the pros about the 2268h.

The 2268H is designed to replace the 2241H. 3" dual voice coil. Similar response shape, a bit flatter.

2242H has a bit flatter response then either of the above.

Thanks, Giskard. I hope they can help my sr4715s by tearing down the house

I love the 2268H. I have replaced 2241H's in several boxes and have been very happy with the results in every instance. Thee 2268 seems to go a little bit lower to the my ear when used in a box tuned for a 2241. Also, the 2268 can handle a much larger amount of power than the 2241. Also, the 2268 isn't really a traditional dual voice coild design, but a differential drive set-up. This sets up the two voice coils in a push-pull operation between two different gaps. This helps to reduce odd order distortion and it also allows for a smaller field in each gap.

    Cheers,
    Zach

You'll be more than pleased. Everything I've heard and worked with in the SRX series is stunner.

A brand new 2268H just went on eBay for $212. I was going to bid, but since it would have been more of a curiosity for me at this stage, (I still have three Sub1500's), I wasn't willing to go quite that high. It would have been fun to play with, though...
