    Question 4410 network

Hello members of this great forum,

I would like to know, what types of condensers are used in the crossover of my 4410 in the tweeter section ( MKC, MKS, MKP? ). I consider to change it against Polypropylen-types from Audyn ( German product ). Also, I want to change the electrolytic-type condensers of the midrange path against some MKS 4-WIMAS.
I think, this will give a better resolution and greater dynamics.

    Many greetings from Germany.

They should be so called "mylar" caps. AFAIK this is Polystyrene (MKT) but I'm not sure.
Also bypass them with 0,01uF Wima Film/Foil Caps.

    See my 4425 network here:

    mylar caps

    Guido

I am pretty sure mylar caps are polyester not polystyrene. Also known as MKT as far as I am aware.

My understanding is that generally polyproplene are considered better than polyester and polystyrene are also considered to be very good. Teflon are supposed to be the best. However other factors such as costruction is also important.

    Ted,

I will try polypropylen types in the high pass and will report the aural results.
