    2416H vs 2418

    For those interested I measured a 2418 vs a 2416H in a 4425.

Seems that the 2418 is only slightly more efficient and can easily be used as a substitude for the 2416H.
Good news I think as the 2418 is cheaper and the dia's are much cheaper too.

Sonically it sounds perfect after padding it with the mid L-Pad to app. -2 dB and match the other speaker (with2416H) very well.

2418 is brand new while the 2416H is well used. Thats why the 2418 resonance peak is so high. Usually it will drop a bit.

Just wish you could drop the adaptor that fits the 2416/2426 on it for the 3 hole flange mount horns.

    Pics later

I'll post pics later. This new project can't be found nowhere in the forum. I did 4425 DIY for myself earlier but these are new.

This time I built a new pair for a friend.
I used the 2214 from porschedpm. Thanks again!
    I used original 2416H
I used special made copys of the 2342. Unfortunately with bolt on so I needed to use the P-Audio Adapter. The copys are very close to original. Only the finish need improvement. But I'll care for this later. From this 2342 copys I can have as much as i need
I used DIY crossovers with high end caps and film/foil PP and PS bypass.
    Sounds awesome!

    As said, pics later.

Could the rising impedance from 5 kHz upwards be caused from the ferrofluid?

What happens with the ferrofluid when changing the dias?

Reworked Horn finish. Still not perfect but for prototypes it's fine
