    Restoring L100s

I m a new member to the group and I am really glad I found you guys. You see I’m in the middle of restoring a set of L100s that I bought new in 1978. At that time they were being discontinued and I got the pair for $478.00. For the last 28 years they have been with me through thick and thin. I recently decided to give the Centuries a makeover and purchased a set of RBH 1044-SEs in their place. I pulled the L100 drivers and this is what I got:

    # 306996 A
    Woofer 123A-3 # 122786
    Midrange LE5-2 # 357433
    Tweeter LE25

    # 307314 A
    Woofer 123A-3 # 103699
    Midrange LE5-2 # 364380
    Tweeter LE25

Everything seemed to go well until I tried to clesn up the old foam rings on the LE25s. Not realizing the leads to the tweeter were two very fine wires under the foam I managed to break all the leads. Can these be repaired? The tweeters worked fine untill I got a hold of them.

    Other areas of concern:

I would like to replace the binding posts on the back. Any suggestions?

Where can I purchase new foam rings for the LE25s?

I have been trying to get in touch with Sonofagun for new foam grilles. So I hope he reads this thread and gets back to me.
I've been a woodworker for the past 31 years and refinishing the cabinets is not much of a problem. But a techician I'm not. So thanks in advance for any help you may have to offer.

    Hey, Wilsonj...

Well, if you're the original owner, you better post some pics of those collectors!!

On the LE25 - I'm thinking you either need to recone, or trawl eBay for some replacements. I don't believe they can easily be repaired.

What do the RBH 1044-SE's have to do with this? I guess just a temporary substitution for those wonderous L100's...

Search the forum for "binding posts" - a few threads should show. As well, do likewise on the Parts Express Website, and you will be sated.

I replaced the posts on my L100's with a set of gold plated Banana Jacks. You can pick them up anywhere and they are all too easy to do.
