JBL doesn't actually provide surrounds, the proper technique is to do a recone - but ... considering the much higher costs of reconing, surrounds happen.
I redid the surround on my 2235 (15 inch woofer) last year and had fine luck ... have you searched the site here to see how others have replaced the surround on their woofers?
Here's one thread - http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=469
A couple of different vendors sell "surrounds" on ebay. Some ebay vendors sell good parts and stand by their sales, others may be questionable at best ...
2ch: WiiM Pro; Topping E30 II DAC; Oppo, Acurus RL-11, Acurus A200, JBL Dynamics Project - Offline: L212-TwinStack, VonSchweikert VR-4
7: TIVO, Oppo BDP103D, B&K, 2pr UREI 809A, TF600, JBL B460
You can't go wrong if you use surround material from Rick Cobb. He seems to respond well to email: [email protected]
His Ebay ID is: looneytune2001
There are no recone kits for those drivers. If they go you replace the driver.
