    Polarity of LE5-8 Connectors

i just received my pair of LE5-8 mids from the ebay seller to upgrade my L-88P 2-way systems to L-100 equivalents. The LE-5's do not have red dots on them and I am going to have to attach push-on connectors on the wires now lying in the cabinet mid-range chambers. The L-88P's originally used LE5-2 mids that had spring loaded connectors accepting bare wire.

The speaker has one male pin and one female pin. Which is positive?

    Thanks,

This should be your mantra - red is right.

Put the driver face down with terminals facing towards you - red is right (female faston connector).

    Thanks!

My next job is to build up the crossovers. I will pattern them after the L-100 versions that are built on brown masonite board EXCEPT I will make them a little wider so all screwheads are visible on the baffle. It seems stupid that JBL put one or more of the mounting screws under the aluminum nameplate unless they were using that as a means of detecting "tampering".
