    Jbl 2022

I picked up a functional 2022 recently. Its' functional, but pretty battered. I also managed to pick up a newly reconed 2023. Can I convert the 2022 to a 2023?

I haven't had a 2023 in hand, but I have worked with 2022s pretty extensively. I assume they both have the same "6-hole" cast basket?

If that's the case, and the 2023 also has a 3" voice coil like the 2022, and has the same thickness magnet top plate, then yes, the 2022 can be reconed to a 2023.

To check the magnet plate: Look at the round steel plate, between the magnet and the basket. If they are the same THICKNESS (ie, the magnet is spaced the same distance from the back of the basket on both, EXACTLY), then you should be in luck.

    Regards,
    Gordon.
