I just picked up a pair of older 1980`s L100t`s. I knew as soon as I hooked them up they were some nice speakers. Can I tell what year they are by the serial number? I think they were made 85 to 89?? I got them at an auction for $65.00 for the pair.

I don't think that there is a way to tell the date by the numbers. I have had a couple of L80Ts, the little brother to your L100Ts. I have noticed that the earlier years of these have the crossover built on a sheet of masonite, while the later models have a printed circuit board. There is probably no difference in the sound.
That's an outrageous deal on the L100T's - they retailed for around $1200/pr! And if you're new to JBL's, don't confuse these with the standard L100's - the T series is in a whole different league. Congrats!
