Does having speakers reconed decrease their value? I wanting to buy some l100s that have been reconed.

Depends on who reconed it.
If it needs a recone the value it currently has is called "core" value.
Most JBL cores are worth $20 to $80 depending on model.
In general I agree with Giskard, but there are special cases where the speaker's collector value is based on original cones with little regard for sonic value. It is possible that a speaker will have it's performance improved and it's value decreased, though this is unusual.

Did the L100 bit get added later or am I blind? In the case of L100s I agree completely with Giskard. Regardless of what he says.

Yes, there is always someone who views something from a "collector's" point of view rather than a "utilitarian" point of view. I personally can't even relate to the need to have the little red wax seals on a JBL compression driver. The only stuff I "collect" is stuff that has a practical use. All the rest gets tossed in the trashcan to be sent to a landfill in Canada.
Gee, thanks Giskard. Actually, the city of Toronto sends its trash to Michigan....Originally Posted by Giskard
