    JBL tweeter mounting bracket

    Hello,
I'm looking for a drawing of the mounting bracket for early 075 tweeters. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

That's right. I want to reproduce them and for that I am looking for the exact measurements.

You don't need to just scale it from Widgets photo. Closed the ID is the same as the 075 OD. Use that to get the rest.

Just put it in a photo program and use the pixels and pixel ratio's to get the rest of the numbers.

Hi, thanks for your help. I created a drawing in DXF format. If anyone needs it, I'll attach it to.

RE I am looking for the exact measurements.

No intent to fault Todd or others, but the exact dimension i have from a JBL document is 3 3/16" or 81 mm, so a tiny bit more. Your drawing might need a slight adjustment?

I've always used a 3-1/8" hole saw to drill the baffleboards and the tweeters always slip right in. Maybe the hole saw has a bit of slop.

When I measure the neck of my 2402, I get 79.1mm. So I think 3 1/8" for the clamp hole is correct.

I have used a 3-1/8" forstner bit for my 2405's for a very close perfect fit.

For a clamping ring, yes the opened hole should be about 3-1/8" too, with a hole diameter around 78mm when the clamp is tightened.

Maybe there's some slop in JBL's measurements, lol

Another possibility is that the dimension or its tolerance has varied a little over the years. There have been 8 versions of the 075 according to my listings so this might explain slight dimentional variations from one to another? Here one mentions 79.1 mm, another 78 mm, JBL 81 mm, so this remains possible...

Since the op referred to early 075, and the dimensions info i have/posted goes back to 1980, pretty old, i gave it a shot hoping it may help him. However its not necessarily the oldest info ever.

    BTW the 8 identified versions being: 075, 075R, 075-022, 075-105, 075-105B, 075-105C, 075-105CH, 075-105D.

Forgot to mention. The 075R version has an OEM indication on the listing, i guess it was JBL made for another speaker manufacturer. For example JBL made some drivers for Fender.

Maybe it is the tweeter for the Rodgers organ speakers? Like the D140R woofer?

Following your last question i had another look at JBL lists.

All 8 versions use the same repair kit D8R075 so this makes me believe the differences might be minor.

The 075R is said to be slightly different than the 075, but no further details given.

With regards to the D140R there is an OEM mention, however no indication given, in that case, about who is the OEM...
