If you get a chance checkout the LaGuardia Airport Marine Terminal. It is where the Pan American flying boats like the Boeing 314 were kept in Flushing Bay. It's beautiful and the murals inside are worth the trip.

Yes I have flown in and out of LaGuardia at that terminal. It is so cool. I was thrilled to see how much of the original terminal still exists and is nicely maintained.
Here in SF there is a similar vintage Pan Am Clipper terminal on Treasure Island. For years it was part of the Navy base there, then it was a Pan Am museum. These days it is not in the best of shape.

Widget, how is this for audio bling? The magnificent application of of Art Deco style to this design makes this a winner for me. Has audio furniture ever looked so good since?

Nice radio example!
Not nearly as blingy, but I grew up with one of these (& it was old -then-) ... filled a very large basement with impressive (at the time) sound/volume.
The 'magic eye' tuning indication was hypnotic. Centerpiece radio/furniture ... gather 'round kids.
