    I have always wondered if the sound is impacted by a damaged dust cover like pictured, they don't look good but does it really impact the sound?

    You can buy new ones here;

    Midwest Speaker Repair
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/15183414038...m=151834140386

    I have used them and they are very good and not difficult to assemble.

    Those are aluminum, so wrinkles are usually permanent. But you can pull most dents out with a piece of tape.
