I have always wondered if the sound is impacted by a damaged dust cover like pictured, they don't look good but does it really impact the sound?

I have used them and they are very good and not difficult to assemble.

Those are aluminum, so wrinkles are usually permanent. But you can pull most dents out with a piece of tape.
