The thread about 2202a re-cone options got me thinking about the options for the 2225H and 2220J baskets I have.
Are there re-cone options for use in home audio?

The 2225H is the exact frame and motor used by the 2234H and 2235H, you may want to look at one of those options. The 2220H/J is a unique speaker, it can not be turned into anything else and expect proper performance.

Since factory kits are no longer manufactured for these drivers and the aftermarket parts available have become quite good, there is lots of new possibilities to be had with these cores.
I have recently developed a no rot recone kit for the 2235H/2225H cores that I call the 2236H. It will work quite well with any functional equivalent ferrite or AlNiCo frame/motor.
The 130/2220 frame/motors can be built as a bespoke woofer or 136HS Synthesis style subwoofer with the correct, blueprinted amount of Aquaplas applied to the rear of the cone to make a formidable driver that will never suffer from foam surround rot.
I've done several now with rave reviews from my customers. JBL has gone full circle and is now using cloth surrounds on the 15" woofers.
