    are they real OEM 2405 diaphrams?

    picked these up yesterday, one box was opened so I could look at it, The other box was completely sealed both outer box and inner box Name:  box 2405 diaphram.jpg

    Not to rain on your parade, but I'm not sure it matters.
    From the photos they look dimpled creased and oxidized. I hope you didn't pay for them.

    no rain on my parade,...they were short money and worth the gamble and hopefully not needed just part of the collection ....that one does have a dimple...here is the other one...can the oxidation be removed, will it effect the sound if left alone?

    They do look like JBL diaphragms though.
    If you have some dead 2405s, nothing to lose.

    I'd try to measure responses once installed, and work the worst of any creases out (carefully)... perhaps also using a ball point pen (ala JBL standard ops at one point).
    Don't think I'd bother with attempting oxidation removal unless the response looked way off and you wanted to try something fairly gentle... don't want to mess up the adhesives or further damage the rather thin aluminum.
