    Jbl 4435

Can someone please refresh my memory? It has been a years since I last owned 4435’s and I cannot seem to remember the proper speaker wire hook up. It seems that in the 80’s Jbl used black for the positive connection and of course red for the negative. Is this correct? Thanks for any help.

Swap the wires at all the transducers within the box, I recall this is the recommended solution.
    4435, 4430, 4315, 4312B.
    2 x Bryston 4BSST2, BGW 203, JBL 5235, Aphex 720.

As opposed to simply swapping the polarity at the input terminals on the back of the enclosure?

The 4435 is a negative system meaning that a positive voltage on the red input terminal will produce a negative force at the woofer diaphragm.

Thanks for the reply folks.Upon doing a battery test the results are with the black to positive and the red to negative the woofers move out.
